The Teensavers team thinks it is time to highlight those tv, music, and movie stars who have given up the bottle and/or drugs.

We recently posted an article about Bradley Cooper, and just a few minutes ago, we posted an article regarding Neil Young’s newfound sobriety.

Now, I came across this tweet from Janine Turner, most famous from her work on Northern Exposure.

Today, she becomes the first of our spotlighted celebs in our new column “Stars of sobriety.”

Turner now has a radio show based out of Philadelphia. She is also outspoken political commentator. Today we now salute Turner, whose bio says she turned to hope and faith to triumph with her alcoholism two decades ago.

He spent 40 years rocking in a free world.

Now Neil Young is trying something different. He is rockin in a drug free world.

Young has written a new book about his life and he spoke to Rolling Stone Magazine about his new sobriety from alcohol and pot.

The article highlights some of the passages in the book, including these thoughts from Young, “The straighter I am, the more alert I am, the less I know myself and the harder it is to recognize myself. I need a little grounding in something and I am looking for it everywhere.”
