Undercover officers in Tampa Bay had been gathering evidence on a so-called “crack house” in the Tampa Bay neighborhood of Bradenton.     But they weren’t expecting what happened to them next.

But when they went in to gather evidence and make arrests, they were shocked to find a 12-year-old boy among the sellers.

According to TBO.com, authorities arrested 8 people for selling drugs out of the house, just 1,000 feet from an elementary school.

And one of those who now could face charges is a 12-year-old boy.

Authorities also consider the boy a victim, since a relative was at the home and believed to be part of the operation.

This is a sad reminder of how some of our children not only discover drugs, but come to sell drugs. If they are influenced by an older relative, they believe this behavior to be the norm.

When a young child is exposed to drugs at an early age, he or she can turn to peers the same age, and expose them to drugs at school, or within the community.
