Livonia, Michigan had its share of synthetic drug users.

Now, the problem is shrunk thanks to an aggressive approach by lawmakers and the community.

The municipal lawmakers banned the sale and use of the substances in June.

Officers with the Livonia PD went around to dozens of stores and ordered store owners to stop selling the products classified as synthetic drug substances.

Now three months later, they are seeing a dramatic reduction in synthetic drug sales and use.

A local community group the Livonia Saving Our Youth Task Force is making a difference in the community.

Also, the community has issued a $1,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest of people selling or using the drugs.
Way to go Livonia!

Teensavers salutes your hard work and dedication to eliminate these substances!
